Located in the heart of the old city walls of Argelès-sur-Mer, this historic guesthouse is a unique address from which to discover the old town centre, Collioure, the Côte Vermeille and the Pyrenees.
Our five rooms with en suite bathrooms harmoniously blend contemporary style with traditional Catalan charm. Breakfast is served on the terrace most of the year, and by the fireplace in the salon in winter.
On the village’s oldest square, under the shade of 100-year old mulberry trees, guests can also enjoy local and artisanal refreshments on the Hostalet’s terrace.
The rooms
The five rooms, located on three floors of our historic house, have been designed for your comfort. Each room offers a private bathroom, very comfortable bedding, quality cotton bed linen, air-conditioning, and mostly period parquet floors. Rooms are also equipped with a mini-bar, tea/coffee-making facilities, large wardrobes with hanging space and a full-length mirror.

Our cosy attic room with exposed beams offers a peaceful and intimate refuge. Its architectural style makes it an ideal romantic cocoon, whilst the lowest part of the ceiling may not suit taller guests (over 1.75m)!

Our elegant rooms overlooking the Place de la République offer pretty views and a peaceful atmosphere. The square is pedestrian and particularly calm, animated on Wednesday and Saturday mornings by the village market.

Services
From the moment of your reservation to your departure, we undertake to offer a quality service to make your stay memorable: luggage is picked up at your car or from the train station and taken to your room; we can personalize your stay with advice on what to visit and the best restaurants; your breakfast is prepared daily from fresh and tasty local produce; local drinks are served on our terrace; we are happy to share our detailed knowledge about the region; and an in-house laundry service ensures you a care-free stay!
Arrival and departure
Located in the heart of the old city walls, the Hostalet benefits from the calm that a pedestrian zone affords.
Public parking is convenient and free with spaces available less than 5 minutes by foot. On your arrival, we collect your luggage by cargo bike and take it to your room. A pedestrian footbridge (not on Google maps) takes you from the parking to the bottom of our street, allowing you to enjoy the village immediately…
On departure, we take your luggage from your room and deliver it to your car.
The train station is under 10 minutes by foot, from where we can collect and deliver your luggage.
Arrivals take place between 16h00 and 21h00 (or until 21h30 without luggage service), and check-out is until 11h00.
Breakfast
Every morning from 8h30 you can enjoy a delicious, freshly prepared breakfast. In summer, breakfast is served outside on the pretty terrace in the square, in winter a warm welcome awaits beside the fireplace for breakfast in our charming salon.
Your breakfast includes a selection of fresh cut fruits, squeezed orange juice, a choice of artisanal bread, home-made jams and cakes, farmhouse cheeses and eggs, plus a choice of hot drinks.
The price is 14€ per person and is included in some room rates.

In the shade of 100-year old mulberry trees, savour our pure Arabica organic Ethiopian coffee, a selection of Marriage Frères teas, local organic fruit juices, regional wines, speciality sweet wines, artisanal sodas and our homemade sangrias…
Conciergerie
We can help plan your sightseeing trips around the region according to your interests and the length of your stay.
We can also look after your luggage after checking out while you make the most of the end of your stay.
You have the town’s best restaurants less than 5 minutes by foot. We can help with reservations.
You can benefit from our rapid in-house laundry and ironing service (at laundromat rate).
Our philosophy
Over the years, we have developed close relationships with local artisans, artists, organic producers and cooperatives as well as with our employees, most of whom have worked with us for over 4 years. These collaborations are at the heart of our commitment to quality.
The products served for breakfast and on our terrace café/bar come exclusively from local producers and short circuits. Our in-house laundry service also eliminates needless transportation costs and allows us to minimise the use of water and detergents. Our hot water and heating system is environmentally-friendly and we have eliminated the use of disposable products completely.
Over the past 12 years, the establishment has benefited from a meticulous renovation using sustainable materials and local savoir-faire.
Helpful Information
Parking
Parking near the Hostalet is easy, free and public. Spaces are always available less than 5 minutes by foot (Allée Ferdinand Buisson, Hotel de Ville, Allée de la Tolérance, Rue de la Rivière). On your arrival, a member of our team meets you at your car to collect your luggage and deliver it straight to your room with our cargo bike. A footbridge, not featured on Google maps, takes you from the car park directly to the bottom of our street.
Public parking in Argelès-sur-Mer is free and partly covered by video surveillance; no problems have been reported since the Hostalet’s reopening in 2011.

Our establishment only welcomes adults.
All rooms are double occupancy without the possibility to add a supplementary bed.

From April to mid-November, we are available every day during these periods:
- Mornings : from 8h30 to 13h30
- Afternoons : from 16h00 to 21h00
Arrivals are welcomed between 16h00 and 21h00 (or until 21h30 without luggage collection service)
Departures are between 7h30 and 11h00
Quiet times 23h00 to 08h00
PAYMENT METHODS
We accept VISA, Mastercard and AMEX, plus payments by bank transfer or cash.
YOUR BICYCLES
We can look after your bicycles in a secure, indoor location (free).
Your sporting attire can be laundered in-house and overnight (7€ per machine).

Location
Situated between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean, Argelès-sur-Mer offers easy access to the mountains, Collioure or Céret.
The Hostalet is situated on the village square, a calm pedestrian zone, a few steps from the 14th century church, the Casea de l’Albera museum and the Memorial to the Retirada. A large free car park, the train station, bus stops, restaurants, bike rental, a cinema and shops are all less than 5 minutes by foot.
The beach is 2.5km from the Hostalet and easily accessible by public transport, bike (10 mins), by foot (25 mins) or by car.

This is a very special place to stay and enjoy Argeles and the beautiful area! The hosts are so friendly and helpful! The breakfast in the lovely courtyard was wonderful and the newly renovated room had luxury bedding and towels. Loved this guesthouse and highly recommend!

Fabulous Stay
We recently had a stay for a week in October. What a beautiful hotel. Nothing was too much trouble. All the staff were so lovely and welcoming. The room had been really tastefully decorated. We had breakfast outside the hotel, sitting under a huge tree every morning. A lovely offering of fruit, eggs, cheeses and the most amazing baked goods. Not to forget the homemade jams and cakes. I really cannot recommend this place enough. Definitely try it for yourselves!!

A perfect week
We had a perfect week here at L’hostalet. There isn’t anything they can do better. The welcome we received was so friendly, the hotel is beautifully presented, and the rooms are very well equipped with the most comfortable beds and beautiful crisp white linen. The breakfast is unbelievable with fresh fruit, yogurt with homemade granola, a mountain of fresh bread with no less than 4 different homemade jams, eggs cooked however you like them, beautiful cheeses, tea, coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice. Jon & Matthieu are amazing hosts and such lovely guys, their team are an absolute credit to the hotel, you can tell everyone loves working there. Thank you for looking after us so well.
